Michael Poorman's background and work ethic are midwest born and raised. Living in Indiana, he completed junior college then enlisted in the military. He served four years in the Air Force, which included a tour of Vietnam. While stationed at Westover AFB (MA), Michael met his wife Judy, who is a retired high school math teacher. They married in 1972 and have one son, who resides in Vermont, with his wife.

Michael is a graduate of Western New England College with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He has worked at various companies throughout his distinguished career. He transitioned from accounting and finance to human resources, spending the last seven years of his career as a senior staffing consultant with CIGNA and Aetna Insurance Companies.

Michael and his wife moved to Florida in 2007 from Connecticut. He continued to work as a Senior Staffing Consultant for Aetna until he retired in November 2008. Moving into a new community for active adults, Michael found that there are many homeowners who are seasonal, and who need someone to watch and protect their properties while they are away. For this reason, Watch My House was created to meet this growing need. Michael's presence and active participation in the community has proven him to be a trustworthy and dependable person on whom his clients can rely while they are away.
